Financial Cookie Jar

Let's walk down the road of financial freedom together.

Do we need money to eat good?

A deliciuos strawberry ice cream cone  melting in your mouth sounds pretty good hugh?

If you don’t have the money to make it or buy it, even something as simple as ice cream, can seem as far away as a little kid reaching for the top-shelved cookie jar.

We want to live good and sometimes we find ourselves penny pinching in order to make ends meet. Yet we forget some basic facts that will allow us to prosper and even with economical pressures, still have some enjoyment in life. Though some suggestions or reminders might seem repetitive, there might be one or two you probably didn’t think of.

The last post put a lot of emphasis on having a budget, that is absolutely true. With a budget you can never go wrong, it just requieres a lot of self-control. Keeping track of expenses is always good too and putting a priority on what matters most will help.

I want to talk about a commonly known phrase, “What goes around comes around” and that’s what makes a difference. If you want to receive , you need to give, and if you want a cookie, all you got to do is give a cookie.

You can penny pinch and live off of Ramen noodles all you want, or there’s an incredible karma with sharing what you have and get more in return.

When you don’t have much to give, it seems like the last thing you want to do is share. My suggestion is invite people over, just a couple friends, maybe your girlfriend or boy friend, and share what you have. If all you are eating is ham and cheese sandwiches with chips, that is ok, share that. When you less expect it, someone if not that same person will be inviting you over to eat, saving you money, time, and best of all, probably another bowl of Ramen noodles.

I’ve been able to do this for years, actually my whole life. My family have always shared what they have, even if its just beans and rice. In my home there has never been scarce food, because as you give, you receive more. Right now as a student my is full of beef ravioli and cereal, and a sack of white flour to make special “tortillas”  called Arepas. Every time i have the chance i invite people over to eat them with me, try something new, even if it is with just butter and cheese, yet I’ve survived months now without a job, and haven’t had a single bowl of Ramen noodles.

Give it a try, share what you have, today you might be eating a piece of chicken and green beans, tomorrow at your neighbors house you might be having some t-bone steak with asparagus.
