I’m always talking about how there are so many ways to save money, so here are some examples about how to save some cash on what you eat and use in the home.

This one is probably something that you have already thought about, but here we go anyway:  Don’t eat out.  This is a difficult one to live at the beginning, but many of my friends discover that home cooked food is better for you, more tasty and adds variety to your life besides.  Impress others with you skills in the kitchen and give yourself another skill where you can use your creativity.

Your pocket book will thank you.

Number two is to go to the grocery store less.  Almost all people buy impulse items when they are in the store.  If you only go once or twice a month than you will still buy impulse items, but they will be far fewer than the total of going two or three times a week.

Take a lunch to work as well.  When you take lunch you will eat healthier and have more time to do other things you want to do.  You can finish the leftovers that you have to eat after cooking before.

There may be food of higher qualities, but on a whole generic is just about the same as name brand.  Buy generic.  You will still get the foods you need and want and it will be for almost half the price.

Finally, pay attention to the price of actual units like toilet paper in a pack of 32.  You will discover that you are often assuming that the bigger package is a better deal when the stores you are going to are taking advantage of that assumption.

Consider your shopping and your eating and you might be surprised just how much money you are actually saving.
