The House of Representatives approved and passed the Omnibus Bill today. The measure was passed 221 to 202, even though 28 Democrats and 174 Republicans voted against it. The measure combines six appropriation bills into one and will cost $447 billion. In response to the passing of this bill, Republicans are expressing more and more concern that the Democrats are spending recklessly in regards to the growing national debt. The Omnibus Bill still has to pass through the Chamber, but is waiting for the Health-care reform to be discussed.

The appropriation bill regarding the Pentagon is still being modified and is waiting to be discussed. A few more measures may be tacked on to this bill, including President Obama’s job-creation ideas and an increase in the federal debt limit.
