Money is a big part of American culture. Being responsible with is an important habit to develop at a very early age. When children are given the responsibility of handling their own money they are also given the reward of feeling like they are making their own decisions. This education will be priceless when they reach the adult world. Here are some tips on how to educate them to use money wisely.
.Introduce them to money as soon as they can count. By helping them become familiar with money and teaching them about how it works, children will learn how to use it.
.Talk to them about what their values should be concerning money. Use examples of how you should and should not use money in daily situations. Teach them how to save, invest, and spend wisely.
.Part of this process is helping them to know the difference between needs, wants, and wishes. This skill is not only valuable in spending money wisely, but in spending time wisely as well.
.Help them set goals. As the children grow they will realize how rewarding it can be to obtain a goal that they have worked hard for. Knowing how to set goals and reach them is vital in becoming a responsible and wise money handler.
