Even if you’re not a student, I’m sure you can relate. This economy is taking its toll on everyone, it seems, and who couldn’t use a stretched dollar nowadays?
There are so many tips given to those heading off to college to save money. For example, my parents kindly reminded me to avoid leaving things plugged in when they’re not in use and learn to love Ramen noodles.
We don’t always receive the best advice from our loved ones when it comes to finances. Luckily, there are other options.
Scott Reeves stresses the importance of deciphering between needs and wants, especially when you are on a tight budget like that of a college student’s, in his article “13 Financial Tips For College Kids“. He even created a slide show for you to easily review his advice.
It seems like everyone always has something to say in regards to credit cards when it comes to student budgets. What students need to realize is that it is not their money to spend, so don’t spend it!
Putting yourself on a budget is probably the best thing that you can do. It shows that you are starting to see for yourself what the real world is all about.
Eventually all of this finance talk will be second nature to you, and you can be the one giving advice. In the meantime, remember to unplug anything you’re not using and learn to love Ramen noodles.
