Vending Machines

So it’s been a long day at school or the office and you are feeling tired and hungry. We’ve all been there. Most of us quickly search our wallets for a little bit of change and rummage around for what money we have, and then run to the nearest vending machine. Here you will pay only a few coins for a bag of chips or a candy bar. It doesn’t seem like a lot of money so you feel very grateful for the vending machine supplying you with a snack to get you through the day. Well now compare the price of buying a box of snack items, such as granola bars, and the price of buying just one out of the vending machine. You will most likely find that you will save money by purchasing a box of snacks and taking them with you, instead of just rummaging for a few quarters when you want a bag of chips.
Vending machines may seem cheap, but in the long run they are wasting you money. If you spent just $2 on a box cracker snack packs with 8 packages in it, that would be a quarter per package. Whereas, if you spent 50 cents in a vending machine, you’d be paying twice as much. The odds are you are wasting money on vending machines when you could be saving.
